--- Star Ocean Debug Room Translation by antisyst3m How do I get into the debug room? (Note: Make sure you are around the Lacour area.) Simple. Though, it's going to be a little more complicated than just adding a code at startup. Star Ocean shifts memory everytime you play (everytime you move, for that matter), which makes it impossible to make a universal code that will work for every game! First, what you want to do is access the debug menu: 1) Access the item inventory screen, and highlight the `Specialty' command 2) Hit the freeze button on your GS 3) Go to the option `Code Generator' and run a `known value search' 4) Set the search `equal to' 00000 5) Return to game 6) Highlight the next command down, and hit the freeze button. Set the `equal to' option to 00001 7) Highlight the next command down, and hit the freeze button. Set the `equal to' option to 00002 8) Keep going in the same order (next down, 00003, etc) until you narrow it down to 2 or 3 choices. 9) `View' the code choices and make ONE of them active. Exit back to game 10) Try moving your cursor in the menu. If it acts all screwed up, go back into the code acivator and change the value of the active code to 000B (or 00011) 11) Back in the inventory menu, hit the `action' button twice and you'll see a menu with a bunch of options that you can play around with. Note: Most of the options are quite obvious, but a few are confusing. Etc gives the character in the first position all of the skills; Tech gives all of the techniques or spells for a character, and Sflag activates the debug room. In case you haven't already, choose the Sflag option. Now what you need to do is exit back to the inventory screen and TURN OFF the active code. Otherwise, your game will freeze when you try to access the inventory screen again. Now, just enter the town of Lacour, and you are then at the Debug Room (hopefully.) Keep in mind that you won't be able to see your character. You will start at the lower left hand corner of the screen. Just hit the action button like you are talking to someone.you should be able to find yourself. Now that you're there.here is a map, and list of who does what!
